Safety is part of the curriculum.
Students learn safe habits by practising them. These rules apply in every cohort, at every grade.
EVERY PROGRAM
Program-wide guardrails
- Approved, teacher-guided tools and websites only
- Supervised sessions led by program instructors with teachers or site staff
- Fictional examples for accounts, scams, incidents and data
- Minimal student data collected; no sensitive personal information in activities
- Parent communication and permissions handled through the school or site
- No paid home technology required
CYBERSECURITY
Defensive and authorized only
- All activities stay inside approved sandboxed learning environments
- Students do not attack live systems, scan public targets or use real credentials
- Exercises use fictional data
- Students sign and revisit a responsible-use agreement
AI
Responsible AI use
- No personal or sensitive data in prompts
- Approved tools only; teacher demonstrations can replace student accounts
- AI outputs are drafts that a person must verify
- Students are transparent about how they used AI in their work
- AI-security topics are taught as recognition and mitigation, never bypassing real systems
CODING
Productive, ethical coding
- School-approved tools, repositories and accounts
- Projects avoid personal, sensitive or school-confidential data
- If AI coding assistants are allowed, students disclose use and explain their code
- No scripts that target live systems or create harmful automation
CAREERS
Honest outcomes
- No promise of employment, internships or scholarships
- No credential claims before eligibility is confirmed
- No unnecessary sharing of student career data
- Age-appropriate professional networking only
